Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court and Recovery Court
Veterans Treatment Court and Recovery Court
Attorneys at the Aldred Law Firm have had great success in two separate but similar Court programs that resolve criminal charges: Veterans Treatment Court and Recovery Court.
Veterans Treatment Court is for soldiers and veterans who have found themselves in the criminal justice system and are experiencing substance abuse, mental health issues or both. Veterans with criminal charges including DUI, public intoxication, domestic assault, drug charges and other charges may be eligible for this program which helps soldiers and veterans get treatment for their mental health, addiction, physical, emotional, and financial problems in programs that are tailored to their needs. After completing a VTC program, under judicial supervision, participants may be eligible to have their charges reduced to a more minor charge or dismissed and expunged completely.
Montgomery County Recovery Court was created to promote intervention and rehabilitation and assist Montgomery County residents who suffer from addiction and have criminal charges relating to drugs or alcohol to help them get the treatment they need with the possibility of getting their cases dismissed and charges expunged if they complete the program and graduate. The program has four phases, including treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and self-awareness/maintenance.
These programs were designed to provide treatment to people suffering from addiction and mental health issues and benefit not only the participants but their family's and the community as a whole. Both programs require active involvement and offer a chance to have the criminal charges expunged and you may come out with a clean record.
