Deadly Medication Error
A federal investigation has established that a nurse at Vanderbilt committed a NEVER,NEVER, NEVER error in obtaining the wrong medication from a dispensing machine. The doctor’s order was for “Versed” however the nurse carelessly typed in the powerful medication “vecuronium” overriding the warnings. Actually, the nurse just typed in the first two letters, “VE”. Vecuronium is one of the three medications used in a lethal injection used to put death row inmates to death. The nurse administered the wrong medication, a powerful paralytic, killing the patient minutes later. Further information is available at News Channel 5
